Complying with Standard 90.1-2016 (6-hour)
This is an archived recording of the 2017 online version of the course. Continuing education credits and/or professional development hours are not available.
The 2016 update of ASHRAE Standard 90.1 Energy Standard for Buildings is a major revision, containing more than 125 changes from the 2013 version. Together, Standards 90.1-2007, 90.1-2010, 90.1-2013 and 90.1-2016 produce almost 40% energy savings from the 2004 version.
The 2016 edition offers a simplified lighting approach and changes to building systems and controls. It is very important for users to understand the details of these new requirements. This seminar is designed to give the participants a good understanding of how to comply with the requirements of 90.1-2016.
This seminar is highly interactive and includes example buildings plus several in-class exercises (for building envelope, lighting, and HVAC) with problems that participants can solve individually or in teams. Files for the example buildings and in-class exercises will be available for download from ASHRAE.
Participants are strongly encouraged to bring their laptops to the seminar for use with ComCheck software and other exercises. This seminar is targeted at design professionals, code officials and building owners. It is not intended for participants seeking in-depth modeling tips.
