1 Scope

1.1 This standard is a transport defining a bit-serial data structure for 3 Gb/s [nominal] component digitalsignals or packetized data.

1.2 This standard specifies a coaxial cable interface suitable for applications where the signal loss does notexceed an amount specified by the receiver manufacturer. Typical loss amounts would be in the range of upto 20 dB at one-half the clock frequency.
