Significant Changes to Standard 90.1-2010
This is an archived recording of the Spring 2014 online version of the course. Continuing education credits and/or professional development hours are not available.
ANSI/ASHRAE/IES Standard 90.1-2010 and the 2012 International Energy Conservation Code (IECC) mark an acceleration in the race to reduce energy usage in commercial buildings. More than three times the typical number of addenda has been added to these editions, marking the largest change in a decade. This course provides an in-depth overview of these publications, answering the questions: “What changed from their previous editions?” and "When comparing them, how are the Code and the Standard alike, and how do they differ?" Changes to the envelope, lighting and mechanical sections in both editions are discussed, using as a basis the new publication, Significant Changes to the International Energy Conservation Code and ANSI/ASHRAE/IES Standard 90.1.
